Almost three in five motorists likely to use recycled car parts

Nearly three fifths of motorists would be likely to use a recycled car part (58%) if their vehicle required a repair, with just under half saying they are more likely to use a recycled part now compared to five years ago (47%).
According to Aviva research, those aged 17-24 surveyed are the most likely age group to use recycled parts (72%), compared to those aged 55 and over, who are least likely (45%).

Volkswagen cuts hours at main Wolfsburg plant over parts shortage

Volkswagen is reducing work hours for employees at the German carmaker's main plant in Wolfsburg for three weeks in September due to a parts shortage caused by recent floods in Slovenia, a spokesperson for the company said on Monday.
Group spokesman Andreas Meurer said that the short-time work measures would be in place from Sept. 11-29.

Vehicle parts shortage extending fleet off-road time, says AFP

A shortage of car and van parts is creating service, maintenance and repair (SMR) issues for fleets, extending vehicle off-road (VOR) time, according to the Association of Fleet Professionals (AFP).
The trade and training body says that AFP members are regularly reporting a range of problems, such as parts supply, which were felt to be outside the control of suppliers. However, others, including levels of communication, which were not, were described as disappointing by fleets.

Motorbike parts segment to be developed in Cambodia

With the two-wheeler segment of the automotive sector logging rapid growth in Cambodia in recent years, the government has decided to focus on increasing backward linkages for locally assembled motorcycles to increase localisation and create job opportunities.
Revenue in the motorcycles market is projected to be $150.90 million this year and is expected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.80 percent in the five years (2023-27) to reach the estimated market volume of $182 million by 2027, according to statista.com data.

Nismo Heritage Program to begin 3D printing Skyline parts

Nissan is expanding its Nismo Heritage Parts program once again and the list of what’s available just keeps growing.
Nissan announced it’s adding new Skyline parts to its catalog with the help of robots and additive manufacturing, AKA 3-D printing. The Nismo Heritage Parts program started in 2017, and in 2019 a process Nissan refers to as dual-sided dieless forming allowed the company to stamp sheet metal at a small scale.
